The Jets have engaged in their first winning streak since December 2020
Behind 197 total yards from Breece Hall, the New York Jets earned an elusive winning streak and their first divisional victory in their last 13 tries, topping the Miami Dolphins 40-17 on Sunday afternoon in East Rutherford.
The Jets’ first score might’ve been more appropriate at Sunday night’s New York Mets game, as Sauce Gardner provided the first points of his NFL career when his hit on Teddy Bridgewater not only removed the backup quarterback from the game but also created a safety induced by intentional grounding.
Teddy Bridgewater is not allowed to return to game because of this hit. Doctors who examined him cleared him but the new policy won’t allow him to return because someone didn’t like the way this looked. This policy is going to be a disaster. pic.twitter.com/8C66UEW6Iz

Further baseball antics lingered when the Jets had a 5-0 lead after the first quarter thanks to a Greg Zuerlein field goal but the Jets broke the game open when Michael Carter got the only yard that Breece Hall couldn’t, punching it in from one yard out after the rookie went 79 yards on a reception from Zach Wilson.

Miami struck back with scores despite Gardner’s first career interception, but the Jets retained a halftime lead thanks to Zach Wilson turning that turnover into a five-yard scoring tally.

Raheem Mostert and Durham Smythe scored for the Dolphins, both being short rushing scores.
Scoring in the third quarter was limited to a 46-yard Jason Sanders field goal, but it was all Jets from there on out, especially after Miami missed another in the final frame. More big gains from Hall set up another short Carter score, but he finally got to enter the end zone for himself after Quinnen Williams recovered a Thompson fumble.

One more score awaited the Jets, as Braxton Berrios scored on a 15-yard rush to close things out. He was hit in the head and had some difficulty getting up, but when he was able to rise, he pumped up the MetLife Stadium crowd, who reveled in the Jets’ first winning streak since December 2020.
A massive flaw still in the #NFL protocol is that if you don't stand up, you can't show ataxia or gross motor instability.
Watch how long Braxton Berrios stays down on a knee after this huge hit. He couldn't celebrate his own touchdown. Brain injury or wind? We'll never know. pic.twitter.com/CP6L9V7vXh

The Jets will return to action on the road next Sunday when they battle the Green Bay Packers (1 p.m. ET, Fox).
