NFL Best Bets
Cleveland Browns @ Miami Dolphins
We faded the Dolphins last week, along with a few times this season, and are right back to it this week. The Dolphins have one of the best offenses in the NFL when Tua Tagovailoa starts and finishes the game. However, their defense continues to let up tons of points.
Miami’s defense ranks 25th in the league when it comes to scoring, allowing 24.9 points per game. They gave up 252 rushing yards last week and are now going up against the third-best rushing offense in the NFL.
The Browns have been running the ball very well with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. I expect that to continue for them this week.
Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney have the ability to wreck this game. With offensive linemen Austin Jackson and Terron Armstead banged up and not practicing, the Dolphins could be forced to use a backup tackle on an already poor offensive line. This should pave the way for the Browns’ defensive line to make a massive impact.
The Browns will try to take advantage of their bye in Week 9 as they look to get a few key pieces back on the field. Guard Wyatt Teller and cornerback Denzel Ward were both limited at practice Wednesday after missing their Week 8 win over the Bengals.
I think the Browns will be able to run the ball on Sunday and keep this game close.
The play: Cleveland Browns +3.5
Washington Commanders @ Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles enter Week 10 as the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL. They are playing extremely well and have the second-best odds (+500) to win the Super Bowl at FanDuel Sportsbook, only behind the Buffalo Bills.
Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown get a lot of the credit, but the Eagles quietly have one of the best defenses in the NFL. They are allowing 16.9 points per game, which is the fourth-best mark in the league. They also have the third-best passing defense in the NFL, which is only allowing 177.6 yards through the air.
The Commanders’ defense also has been playing well the last few weeks. In Week 9, the Commanders held the Vikings to their second-lowest-scoring total of the season. They also held Dalvin Cook to only 47 rushing yards and 2.8 yards per attempt.
Lastly, primetime games have been staying under all season. More specifically, Sunday and Monday night football games are 13-6 to the under so far this season.
I think this game will be a low-scoring game and stay under the total.
The play: Under 43.5
