Raiders, not NY Jets, are new betting favorites for Aaron Rodgers

The question is if any of the news is legit

Hold up the Aaron Rodgers hype train: there’s a new bully on the block.

The Las Vegas Raiders have now overtaken the New York Jets as betting favorites to land Rodgers in the 2023 offseason.

The odds are via Sportsbetting.ag, an offshore sportsbook. It’s funny that San Francisco is on the list since Rodgers outright nixed that and it’s unlikely that the Green Bay Packers trade him to an NFL foe.

However, the Rodgers-Adams reunion continues to pick up steam as Adams insists his old quarterback is joining his neighborhood and likes tweets to that effect.

Furthermore, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport stated on WFAN’s “Tiki and Tierney Show” that any Jets trade for Rodgers would be complicated.

If Rodgers didn’t want to come to New York, the trade would be a non-starter. However, he did say that he believes Joe Douglas knows what he’s doing and will likely know about the possibility and the cost of such a trade in short order.

Through all the Rodgers-to-Raiders noise, there has been no legitimate source making this case other than Davante Adams, who may or may not have insider information. All other tweets regarding Rodgers read as Twitter trolls doing their thing and trying to get clicks.

However, Rodgers did comment that he’s getting a lot of Raiders fans begging him to come to their team.

On Jan. 22, 2023, DraftKings Sportsbook listed the Packers as the favorites to retain Rodgers’s services, at -123. Second was the Raiders at +550 with the Jets coming in third at +750.

Obviously, all the Jets chatter over the last couple of weeks changed those odds. Now, the Raiders are in the driver’s seat per some of the oddsmakers.

Meanwhile, ESPN’s Rich Cimini said on WFAN that he does not think the Jets are all that interested in Derek Carr and that he believes they will pivot to Jimmy Garoppolo if Rodgers does not work out.

Stay tuned for more Rodgers drama; he appears to live for it just as much as Brett Favre did years ago.
