In a recent study, the New York Jets offered fans the best bang for their buck for stadium tours
MetLife Stadium has been the center of many criticisms – especially for New York Jets fans. And since the Jets moved from New York City to New Jersey in 1984, it’s been an added jab against the team. After all, who wants to share a stadium with another team in the same league? But as it turns out, MetLife Stadium does have one interesting perk that sets them above most of their peers.
In a recent study by US Betting Report, MetLife Stadium has the third-best value-for-money stadium tour across the entirety of the NFL. The study was conducted by gathering each teams’ each team’s adult/general admission stadium tour ticket. That number was then divided by the average time it takes to complete the tour, revealing a cost-per-minute figure.
At $17 per ticket, the 90-minute tour averages $0.19 per minute. The tour includes viewing the press box, luxury suites, and the ability to walk on the field as well. Only the Detroit Lions and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a cheaper dollar-per-minute average.
Meanwhile, AFC East rival New England Patriots came in at No. 9, with a 90-minute tour costing $25 – good for $0.28 per minute. The other AFC East rivals didn’t even make the list, as the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins don’t provide fans with an opportunity to tour the stadium in the offseason.
The stadium tour pricing reflects the Jets’ 2022 season ticket pricing in a way, as well – as the Jets had the second-cheapest ticket price average in the NFL last season, per TickPick. Ticket prices are sure to increase now that Aaron Rodgers is at quarterback for the Jets, but fans will take the trade-off after over a decade-long playoff drought.
