During his latest “Pat McAfee Show” appearance, New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers spoke about Zach Wilson and his recovery from his recent injury

Even when not with the team, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers still has his teammates’ backs.

Appearing on the “Pat McAfee Show” Friday, Rodgers spoke about current quarterback Zach Wilson and the Jets’ matchup against the Patriots.

“I talk to Zach Wilson all the time. I love Zach. We talk every single day. I’m pulling for him,” said Rodgers.

“I just want him to go out & play free & confident this week. Bill Belichick & the Patriots, the Jets haven’t beaten them in a while, so good time to end the streak.”

Rodgers also spoke about his recovery, saying that “every single day is tough” and that “there’s been some progressions with the rehab the last couple of days, and that gets the hope meter trending upwards a little bit.”

According to Jets head coach Robert Saleh, Rodgers will “hopefully” be back in the team’s facility next week as he continues his recovery process. The quarterback said his next goal is to get out of his walking boot and have the strength to stand independently, which he says will be “exciting.”

For Jets fans, it is good to hear that Rodgers is communicating with Wilson and is pushing himself to return to the facility as soon as possible. The Jets’ veteran quarterback, even when not having an impact on the field, is making sure that he is providing leadership for the organization off of it.
