The New York Jets reportedly showed interest in Jerry Jeudy before he was traded to Cleveland
The New York Jets desperately need wide receiver help, and they appear to be searching the trade market in an attempt to address the position.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, one option they had interest in was Jerry Jeudy of the Denver Broncos. Fowler reported the Jets and Patriots, among other teams, showed interest in Jeudy before he was traded to the Cleveland Browns for a fifth-round pick and a sixth-round pick.
Became clear this week Denver was warming up to finally trading Jerry Jeudy, who had interest from five or six teams, including #Jets and #Patriots, per source.

Jeudy, a former first-round pick out of Alabama, never quite lived up to the hype. He wasn’t the number one option that many expected he could be coming out. However, he has proven to be a steady WR2 who can be a big play threat.

Jeudy’s numbers over the past two seasons put him on pace for 66 receptions, 949 yards, and four touchdowns per 17 games. He also averaged 14.3 yards per reception and 9.3 yards per target. Those are some great numbers in an offense that often struggled. And here’s the kicker – the best season of his career came under Nathaniel Hackett in 2022 when he set career highs in yards, yards per target, receptions, and touchdowns.
If there was any player who would have liked a reunion with the Jets’ embattled offensive coordinator, it was him. Alas, it was not meant to be.
The Jets’ wide receiver room is abysmal. Garrett Wilson is a star in the making if he isn’t one already. But the Jets lack any sort of threat behind him. That’s made acquiring a wide receiver one of their top priorities this offseason.
With the legal tampering period opening on Monday, the Jets clearly have to turn their attention to the wide receiver position, whether that’s through the trade market or free agency.
