Aaron Rodgers says he’s still working his way back to peak form
On Wednesday, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was interviewed on The Official Jets Podcast, where he gave some insight into his recovery.
“Mentally, I’m there. Physically, I just need to get that confidence to let it loose. I’m close to that, it’s a process. … Right now, you know, I’m 90% myself. 10% not sure what’s going on with various parts of my body.”
“I’m thankful for the lessons I learned in the [rehab] process and, hopefully, it made me a better teammate, better person, better quarterback in the long run.”

According to Jets head coach Robert Saleh, Rodgers is fully participating in OTAs with no restrictions. Based on Rodgers’ comments, though, the last remaining hurdle seems to be regaining trust in his body.
Rodgers spoke about how OTAs have helped him ease back in, and that he’s feeling better each day. When asked if there are times when he makes a play and feels “I still got this,” Rodgers gave a response that captures who he is.
“Most of the time, I’m reminding other people that I still got if they’ve forgotten. Every now and then, you surprise yourself and remind yourself you still got it.”
Rodgers adds, ”Oh yeah. I’m really good.”
Those are words the Jets have rarely heard from their quarterback. And they are words the Jets need to ring true if they hope to hoist the Lombardi trophy this season.
