The New York Jets offense stinks.

That is the truth until proven otherwise.

All of the talent, all of the hype – none of it matters when you go touchdown-less on 13 possessions as 7.5-point home favorites.

This unit’s disappointing results fall on multiple parties. Many talented players are underperforming as individuals, regardless of coaching. Those guys – namely Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall – need to step it up.

Wilson and Hall were billed as stars going into the season but have played nothing close to that level. Excuses can be made all day, whether it’s Wilson getting doubled-covered or Hall getting poor blocking, but when you turn on the film, you can see that both players are flat-out struggling independent of their surroundings.

Aaron Rodgers also missed countless opportunities against Denver, both in terms of inaccuracy and failing to target open receivers. It was an out-of-character game for the four-time MVP regarding his field vision and decision-making.

However, as the orchestrators of this messy operation, the coaching staff deserves plenty of blame as well.

Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was schooled by Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph. Hackett had a poor game plan and failed to adjust despite getting beaten by the blitz over and over – which he already should have been prepared for entering the game, as the Broncos are the heaviest blitzing team in the NFL. All of Jets fans’ worst fears about Hackett came true.

In the latest episode of Blewett’s Blitz, we dive into the All-22 film of the Jets’ 10-9 loss to the Denver Broncos to dissect everything that went wrong for the Jets in this game.

What is Hackett’s impact on the Jets’ woes? Why do Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson look so shockingly poor? Why did Aaron Rodgers fail to see multiple potential big plays? It is all addressed in the film review. Plus, we give some respect that’s due to the defense for allowing only 10 points and 60 passing yards.
