During his Tuesday media availability, the owner of the New York Jets made a plea toward Haason Reddick.
When asked about the star edge rusher who has yet to show up this season, Woody Johnson essentially made what could be seen as a last-resort statement.

“This is something I have never seen before. … I don’t think any of us have seen anything like this, so I think you have to be part psychologist and some other gist to try to figure out what is actually going on. I hope that the young man can come to the team, we would like to have Haason here, we welcome him with open arms,” said Johnson.
“I will extend that. I haven’t talked to Jeff [Ulbrich], but I think he would feel the same way, so when [Reddick] gets here, he will find a very welcoming locker room, and he will be able to fit right in, but he has got to get here first. So Haason, get in your car, drive down I-95, and come to the New York Jets. We can meet you and escort you right into the building, and you will fit right in; you are going to love it here, you are going to feel welcome, and you are going to accomplish great things with us.”
Amid all the craziness with Robert Saleh, this might be the most interesting quote of the entire day.
The Reddick situation had fallen to the wayside, but Johnson’s comments show he has not forgotten about it. The team owner is not thrilled about Reddick’s absence and is evidently pushing to make a resolution happen.
It remains to be seen if any progress has been made between both sides, let alone a resolution to get Reddick back on the field. But if Johnson’s words are to be taken at face value, he wants the Jets to have their star edge rusher getting after quarterbacks sooner rather than later.
