It seemed like Davante Adams was potentially on a collision course to join the New York Jets this past week – until the Jets got caught up in some other minor developments you may have heard about.
Despite no movement on the Adams front this week, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that one source still believes it is “Jets or bust” regarding the possibility of Adams getting traded.

“The Jets do remain interested. There have been conversations between the Raiders and the Jets,” Garafolo said. “But the Jets had a head coach situation they sort of had to deal with last week. So, maybe now, it’s going to depend on what happens Monday night with the Jets and Bills game. If the Jets win, they’re in first place and they might say, hey, here’s the final piece. In fact, one connected source involved said it sort of feels like ‘Jets or bust’ right now.”

Garafolo added that compensation and Adams’ contract remain holdups in the trade conversations.
“The Raiders are adamant, they don’t want to pay a dime of the contract if they move Adams to another team.”
Adams is in the third year of the five-year, $140 million contract he signed with Las Vegas ahead of the 2022 season. He has a $25.35 million cap hit this season, according to Spotrac, which is due to rise to $44.1 million in each of the next two seasons.
Adams, who will turn 32 in December, will miss his third consecutive game today due to a hamstring injury. In three games this year, the six-time Pro Bowler has caught 18 passes for 209 yards and one touchdown.
