The New York Jets announced a series of roster moves ahead of their Week 6 matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football.
The Jets have activated defensive tackle Leki Fotu off injured reserve and released defensive lineman Jalyn Holmes. The team also elevated safety Jalen Mills and tight end Anthony Firkser from the practice squad to the active roster.

Fotu was placed on injured reserve to start the season with a hamstring ailment. He signed with the Jets in the offseason after he played the last four seasons with the Cardinals. In 2023, Fotu totaled 2.5 sacks, 28 tackles, and five tackles for loss in 11 games.
Firkser signed with the Jets during training camp and was elevated for Week 1 against the 49ers, where he took one snap on offense and nine on special teams. The New Jersey native first signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Harvard in 2017, but his first NFL action came with the Titans in 2018, where he spent four seasons. Over his seven-year career, Firkser has appeared in 72 games (4 starts) and totaled 115 receptions for 1,207 yards and five touchdowns.
After spending the past three seasons with the Patriots and starting in 34 of the 43 games he appeared in, the Jets signed Mills to their practice squad following Week 3. Mills was selected in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL draft by the Philadelphia Eagles, where he spent the first five seasons of his career. Mills started in 49 of the 63 games he played in for Philadelphia, totaling five interceptions, 40 passes defended, one forced fumble, and 283 tackles.
Holmes began the season on the practice squad before he was signed to the active roster after the team placed Jermaine Johnson on injured reserve. Holmes has taken 103 defensive snaps in five games this season and has four tackles. Currently in his seventh season, Holmes has appeared in 44 games, totaling 69 tackles, three pass deflections, and two sacks.
