After the Steelers drove down for a field goal on their first drive, the Jets’ first possession ended in a punt. After their defense forced a punt of their own, though, the Jets got moving. Helped out by an unnecessary roughness penalty against the Steelers’ Larry Ogunjobi for hitting Hall late, they drove 82 yards on nine plays, culminating in Hall’s score.
The Jets clearly came out with a concerted effort to get their screen and quick game going. On the drive, Hall had receptions of 18 and 13 yards, and Garrett Wilson took a screen for 12 yards, as well.
Hall’s touchdown run is encouraging for the Jets given the Steelers’ previous stoutness against the run.
The Jets lead the Steelers, 7-3, at the end of the first quarter.
