While speaking to reporters following the New York Jets’ crushing loss to the Seattle Seahawks, interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich did not rule out a quarterback change.
“Not as of today,” Ulbrich responded when asked if he would consider making a change at the quarterback position. Regarding Aaron Rodgers’ performance, Ulbrich stated that he needed to watch the film.

Rodgers, who turned 41 today, struggled yet again on Sunday, completing just 21 of his 39 passing attempts (53.8%) for 185 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception which was returned for a touchdown.
Rodgers’ performance on Sunday marked his third straight game with under 200 passing yards and his 34th straight game without 300 yards.
With a 3-9 record, Sunday’s loss secured the Jets’ ninth consecutive losing season.
“You keep pushing,” Ulbrich stated when asked where the team goes from here. “We don’t have a whole lot of options other than we are going to keep working, we are going to stay together, we are going to play the best football humanly possible by this group, and we are going to try to celebrate this team as best as we can.”
“It’s hard,” Ulbrich added. “It is a true test to everyone coach in that locker room, every player in that locker room, so we have to respond. That is our only choice.”
One positive for the Jets was the performance of running back and special teamer Kene Nwangwu, who was elevated from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s matchup. Nwangwu provided a massive spark on the special teams unit, forcing a fumble on a kickoff while collecting an electrifying 99-yard kick return for a touchdown.
“What an amazing story,” Ulbrich said of Nwangwu. “Kene was a guy for weeks now we have been spotlighting, showing the team his process, and how hard he works. He earned the right to play today, and all that hard work came to fruition; it was an amazing moment for not only him but also the team because the team is really invested in that human being.”
