The New York Jets lost veteran Morgan Moses within the AFC East, opening a gaping hole to fill at right tackle.

The New York Jets’ offensive line has suffered a blow to begin NFL free agency. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, free agent tackle Morgan Moses has agreed to a three-year, $24 million deal with the New England Patriots. The deal is worth up to $28.5 million.

The Jets were reportedly interested in a reunion with Moses to hold the fort down at right tackle. His exit opens a vacancy at the position, which the Jets must now fill to complete their starting offensive line.

Moses, 34, started 14 games for the Jets last season after returning to the team through a trade with the Baltimore Ravens. Moses previously played one season for the Jets in 2021.

In 2024, Moses declined from his peak form, although he still performed at the level of a lower-end starting tackle. Moses earned a 63.3 overall grade at Pro Football Focus, ranking 52nd among the 81 tackles who played at least 500 offensive snaps. Moses had a 60.6 run-blocking grade (54th) and 69.2 pass-blocking grade (42nd). He allowed 16 total pressures and committed eight penalties.

Four of the Jets’ starting offensive line spots are solidified going into the 2025 season: left tackle Olu Fashanu, left guard John Simpson, center Joe Tippmann, and right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker. Now, with Moses gone, the Jets must prioritize the right end of their O-line. Notable right tackles who remain on the open market include Trenton Brown, George Fant, Kelvin Beachum, Kendall Lamm, David Quessenberry, and Chris Hubbard.
