Reporting from Florham Park, NJ — There isn’t much consensus about how strong the 2025 draft class is for teams like the New York Jets.

While a growing contingent has pushed the notion that last year’s group is more talented than the incoming edition, not everyone is willing to bash the 2025 crop of rookies.

The Jets and general manager Darren Mougey appear to be one of them. Speaking to reporters in his pre-draft availability, the former Bronco turned top executive in New York has plenty of strong things to say about the upcoming draft class.

Jets Speak Out on 2025 Draft Class

The good news for a team like the Jets is that the current draft class has plenty of top players at positions New York desperately needs. This includes offensive linemen, defensive linemen, and tight ends.

That alone is why Mougey is more defensive of this current draft than others.

“I think it’s a pretty good draft. You know, there’s all this talk like it’s a good draft, it’s a bad draft,” Mougey stated. “We really won’t know until two years from now, we can assess the talent and what they’ve done in the NFL, but I feel like there are some good players throughout the draft in different rounds, but we feel like there are some talented players that can help us.”

Mougey later confirmed to reporters that the Jets’ draft board is all set. They had begun finalizing their board at the start of their offseason workouts and went through each position group over a single day.

That has allowed the Jets to be prepared for anything at this point.

“Everyone kind of says the same thing, a lot of nothing like you’ll hear today,” Mougey stated. “We’re open to move up or back, you typically get more, we’re willing to move back, but we never really know how it’s going to fall until the horn goes off.”

New York’s big board is ready. Their draft plan is confirmed. Now, as Mougey said, all they need to do is wait for Thursday night’s big day.
