NY Knicks’ Josh Hart declares himself a fan of new NY Jets player

Consider New York Jets forward Josh Hart a big supporter of one of the New York Jets' newest defensive backs.

Hailing from the DMV, New York Knicks forward Josh Hart is a die-hard Washington Commanders fan, but he will be rooting for at least one New York Jets player in the 2025 season.

Taking to X, Hart voiced his support for Jets safety Andre Cisco, who included Hart in his ideal “Celebrity Flag Football” lineup alongside a few household names in popular culture.

Cisco’s lineup was as follows:

  • QB: Jesus
  • RB: Stitch (Lilo & Stitch)
  • WR: Josh Hart
  • WR: Spencer James (All American)
  • TE: Ghost (Power)

Explaining his selection of Hart, Cisco praised the Knicks forward’s athleticism and ability to “high-point the ball well.”

There is projection involved due to Hart’s lack of football experience, but it is an intriguing high-upside pick by Cisco. Despite standing at just 6-foot-4, Hart tied for 12th in the NBA with 9.6 rebounds per game in the 2024-25 season. His ability to read the ball’s trajectory and high-point it is a big reason why he thrives as a rebounder despite his stature. That skill would transition well to the wide receiver position.

And while Hart’s 6-foot-4 frame makes him one of the smaller players on an NBA court, it would make him a behemoth on an NFL field. As wild as it may seem, Hart (6-foot-4, 215 pounds) carries a similar frame to wide receivers like Keyshawn Johnson (6-foot-4, 211 pounds), Randy Moss (6-foot-4, 210 pounds), Tee Higgins (6-foot-4, 219 pounds), and Courtland Sutton (6-foot-4, 216 pounds).

Give Cisco credit for his scouting skills on this one. Perhaps there is a spot in the Jets’ front office waiting for him down the road. He wouldn’t be the first former Jets defensive back to join New York’s front office; his head coach, Aaron Glenn, pulled it off.

It’s always entertaining to see the ways that New York’s nine Big 4 sports teams interact.
