Before even making his official NFL debut, Abdul Carter is already picking up the New York Giantsโ€™ favorite hobby, riling up the New York Jets fanbase.

Following the Giantsโ€™ 31-12 rout of the Jets in the annual โ€œSnoopy Bowlโ€ at MetLife Stadium, Carter jumped on social media, responding to an NFL post that highlighted Jets tight end Stone Smartt delivering a chip block that sent the Giants’ No. 3 overall pick to the turf.

“Might be the only highlight of the Jets all season, and we put BTA. weak ass chip ate that mf like bbq,” wrote Carter.

It is interesting that Carter claims he “ate the chip.” Usually, that doesn’t result in the defender sitting on the ground seven yards from the quarterback.

Additionally, it is ironic that Carter chose to mock the Jets when he struggled mightily in the matchup.

According to Pro Football Focus, Carter graded as the Giantsโ€™ second-worst defensive player against the Jets, posting a 46.9 mark that ranked 147th among 166 edge rushers over the weekend. On 19 defensive snaps, he had no sacks, no hits, no solo tackles, one hurry, and one assisted tackle.

The rookieโ€™s confidence is nothing new. After New York drafted him third overall in April, Carter made headlines by asking for two Giants legends, Phil Simms and Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor, to unretire their numbers so he could wear them.

Carterโ€™s talent isnโ€™t in question, but his bravado has already made him a headline magnet in New York. Between calling out the Jets after a shaky outing and pushing Giants legends to unretire their numbers, the rookie is showing he wonโ€™t shy away from the spotlight.

For a fanbase that loves attitude, Abdul Carter is giving New York Giants fans plenty to talk about. He’ll fit right in alongside Kayvon Thibodeaux.
