On Sunday, the New York Jets suffered a horrific 30-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills, dropping to 0-2 on the season. Star wide receiver Garrett Wilson was at a loss for words regarding the Jets’ flat performance.

Speaking to the media after the loss, Wilson praised the Jets’ week of practice and game plan while struggling to find ways to explain the sluggish performance.

“I donโ€™t know, man. All week you feel like you have a good plan, we had a good week of practice, and then you go out and lay an egg when it matters. We gotta figure it out. I donโ€™t know how that happened,” said Wilson. “Props to them, I guess.”

While the Jets lost every single battle on Sunday, the lack of a passing game stood out most. The team finished with 54 net passing yards, and before Tyrod Taylor came in for garbage time, they only had eight yards. Wilson finished with 50 yards on four receptions.

Wilson was coming off a strong season opener, hauling in seven receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown.

Throughout the team’s first two games, it is evident that the Jets do not trust many pass catchers behind Wilson on the depth chart, which has led him to take on a significant workload to open the season, as expected.

As the Jets search for answers on offense, Wilson has been their lone reliable target to open the season. New York needs other weapons in the passing game to step up.
