Late in the second quarter of the New York Jets’ 37-22 blowout loss to the Cowboys, running back Breece Hall had a costly fumble inside the Dallas 10-yard line, while the score was still just 10-3 in the Cowboys’ favor.
The turnover wiped out a potential touchdown drive and handed the Cowboys an extra possession, marking the beginning of the end for New York.
“It’s unacceptable, can’t shoot ourselves in the foot, so gotta continue to play, but as one of the best players on the offense, you can’t put us in that situation, so unacceptable, learn from it, it is what it is,” Hall told reporters following the loss.
Hall finished the game with 113 yards on 14 carries (8.1 yards per carry), while also adding 42 yards on four receptions in the receiving game.
Besides the costly fumble, the Iowa State product delivered a productive performance against the Cowboys.
“I’m with whatever,” said Hall. “Tanner [Engstrand] is calling the plays. He’s put us in a great spot; he puts me in great spots all the time.”

With the clock ticking and the losses mounting, Hall is beginning to feel the pressure to perform.
“I’m in my fourth year and I don’t have a lot of time left to prove what I want to do and who I can be in this league,” he proclaimed on Sunday.
While Hall’s fumble was costly, the Jets’ margin for error on offense has been razor-thin. With the defense collapsing weekly, even one mistake has been enough to bury New York’s chances.
