It’s the time of year when “moral victories” are enough to keep New York Jets fans optimistic.
The Jets are 2-9, and they declared their intention to build for the long haul when they traded their two best players at the deadline. For that reason, it’s unrealistic to hold the Jets to a winning standard on a weekly basis for the rest of 2025.
That is especially true in games like the one they played this past Sunday, when they walked into Baltimore as 14.5-point road underdogs against a surging Ravens team.
Despite most people expecting the Jets to get blown off the field, Aaron Glenn’s team was more competitive than many fans anticipated. The Jets led at halftime and came within three yards of cutting Baltimore’s lead to three points with seven minutes left in the game, only falling short due to an untimely fumble by Breece Hall.
Overall, though, the Jets looked like they belonged on the field with the Ravens. They outgained the AFC North leaders by more than 40 yards and made life difficult for Baltimore’s star duo of Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson.
At this point, the Jets’ season is all about one thing: player evaluation. With the playoffs out of reach, it’s all we can focus on as analysts, and you can bet that the Jets’ coaching staff and front office are doing the same thing. They are monitoring every snap from every player, looking to gather as much information as possible to inform their critical decisions in the upcoming offseason.
What did we learn in the Jets’ surprisingly competitive loss to Baltimore? Which players had great (or brutal) performances that Jets fans need to know about as they mock up their dream offseason plans?
On the latest episode of Blewett’s Blitz, we’re here to reveal all of the critical takeaways from the Jets-Ravens All-22 film. The top standouts, the biggest dudsโit’s all there on tape.
