The 2026 NFL draft is less than two weeks away, which means the New York Jets and teams across the league are bringing in a flurry of prospects for visits.

According to ESPN’s Jordan Reid, the team hosted Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr., who is a projected first-round pick, for a top-30 visit on Monday.

Last week, Reid reported that the Jets are “extremely high” on the Indiana product.

โ€œThe Jets are expected to be aggressive in boosting their wide receivers room, and Omar Cooper Jr. (Indiana) is one player they are reported to be extremely high on,โ€ Reid wrote on Thursday. โ€œThey view him as an ideal complementary WR2 to Garrett Wilson.โ€

Cooper Jr. has been one of the fastest-rising prospects as of late. Currently ranked No. 22 overall on Mock Draft Database’s consensus big board, he ranked 58th as recently as Feb. 2.

Over three years at Indiana, Cooper Jr. compiled a highly productive NCAA career, posting 1,798 yards and 22 touchdowns across 115 receptions.

His breakout came this past season, when he recorded 69 receptions for 937 yards and 13 touchdowns while serving as a mainstay in the Hoosiers’ high-end passing attack.

A year earlier, in 2024, he flashed a different side of his game. He was deployed primarily as a deep threat, whereas in 2025, he was moved into a slot-heavy role. During the 2024 season, he logged 594 yards and seven touchdowns on 28 receptions while averaging 21.2 yards per catch.

Known for his reliability, he posted a 143.2 passer rating when targeted in 2025 and forced 27 missed tackles, which was tied for the fourth most in the FBS.

Cooper Jr. possesses great upside as a YAC threat at the next level and can threaten defenses at every level. His versatility is also appealing, as he can play both the X and Y receiver positions.

There is a very real possibility that the Jets will select him to be Garrett Wilson’s complement. Perhaps Monday’s visit was just a glimpse of the 22-year-old’s new home.
