So it begins. New York Jets rookie minicamp is here, and the 10:30 a.m. ET, start time represents the unofficial offseason practice beginning for the team.

Not only are the likes of David Bailey, Kenyon Sadiq, Omar Cooper Jr., and the rest of the 2026 NFL draft class on the field, but so are the team’s undrafted free agents.

Moreover, this is when even more under-the-radar football players take their slimmest of slim shots to make a name for themselves. The list of tryout invites is always long, yet the chances of making it beyond this time remain slim.

It’s why this time of the offseason, these two days, are always so intriguing: The no-names of the world are presented with a blank slate, and NFL organizations keep their eyes wide open in the hopes something can be substantially spotted.

Rookie minicamp details

New York Jets rookie minicamp was held outside, at the Atlantic Health Training Center. Unlike in some previous iterations that saw rain, which forced them inside, the team was indeed outside.

The media availability part of the day didn’t yield much. It was easy to spot each of the drafted players, as well as many of the UDFAs, but other than the usual team stretching and a brief glance at some positionals, nothing too substantial was learned.

Head coach Aaron Glenn is scheduled to speak to the media around 11:45 a.m. ET, following the outdoor practice session.

The drafted defensive rookies will follow Glenn. The likes of David Bailey, D’Angelo Ponds, and others are scheduled to meet the media on Friday.

The Jets’ rookie class

As was promised — when the Jets unveiled the rookie uniform numbers — No. 2 overall pick David Bailey was spotted wearing No. 31 on Friday.

Here, Bailey is seen walking with some of his teammates during team stretches.
