One of the few positive takeaways from the New York Jets’ brutal 2025 season was the team’s strong offensive line play. It left fans excited for the young unit’s future.
So, where do people around the NFL rank the Jets’ offensive line across the NFL?
According to ESPN’s Mike Clay, it still ranks smack in the middle. In his annual offensive line rankings posted to his X account, Clay ranked the Jets’ offensive line 14th in the league entering the 2026 season.
The Jets’ overall 68.3 pass blocking grade from Pro Football Focus last season finished 15th in the league, while their 59.7 run-blocking mark ranked 21st.
However, there is a case to be made that the Jets were better than the numbers showed. Many stats, especially in pass blocking, are skewed against the unit because of how long the Jets’ QBs were holding the ball and taking sacks, as our Michael Nania pointed out.
Entering the 2026 season, the Jets are expected to roll out four of the five starters from last season, with Dylan Parham replacing John Simpson at left guard. The only area where you can argue the team should still look to upgrade at is center with Josh Myers.
After signing with the team last offseason, Myers was never expected to be the team’s starter. He was added as a high-end backup with multiple years of starting experience.
Following a triceps injury to Alijah Vera-Tucker before Week 1, the Jets were forced to shuffle their starting five, moving Joe Tippmann out to right guard and inserting Myers in the lineup at center.
On the heels of an excellent year at guard, it is unlikely that Tippmann will move back to center, making it likely that Myers will spend another season in the role after signing an extension with the organization, and with the Jets not adding a center in the draft or in free agency.
Regardless of where the Jets may currently be slotted in Clay’s rankings entering 2026, fans should be pumped about the future of the team’s offensive line.
