The New York Jets are continuing their push for youth and upside at the wide receiver position, as they have added a fascinating project to the group.

According to a report from SNY’s Connor Hughes, the Jets are signing wide receiver Gee Scott after a workout with the team.

Scott, 25, joined the New England Patriots in 2025 as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State. After being waived as part of final roster cuts, he was re-signed to the team’s practice squad in September. Scott finished the season on the Washington Commanders’ practice squad, not appearing in any games.

In January, Scott was selected by the UFL’s Columbus Aviators, but he was released the following month.

With the Jets, Scott is attempting to transition to wide receiver after playing tight end in college and at his two NFL stops. Scott played tight end in college, where he was listed at 6-foot-3 and 243 pounds.

Across 51 career games at Ohio State, Scott caught 47 passes for 393 yards and four touchdowns. His best season came in 2024, when he caught 27 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns for the national champions.

Pending another roster move, the Jets’ wide receiver depth chart currently appears as follows:

  • Garrett Wilson
  • Adonai Mitchell
  • Omar Cooper Jr.
  • Tim Patrick
  • Arian Smith
  • Isaiah Williams
  • Quentin Skinner
  • Jamaal Pritchett
  • Malik McClain (UDFA)
  • Caullin Lacy (UDFA)
  • DT Sheffield (UDFA)
  • Gee Scott

Scott reunites with college teammate Garrett Wilson, with whom he played two seasons from 2019 to 2020.
