Everyone knew that the New York Jets needed wide receiver help going into the 2026 offseason.

Ultimately, the Jets mostly neglected veteran additions at the position. Instead, their biggest splash was a first-round pick, made at 30th overall after trading back into the round: Indiana’s Omar Cooper Jr.

The former Hoosiers standout is facing the challenging task of carrying a heavy role in an NFL passing attack as a rookie. Due to the Jets’ lack of veteran pickups in free agency or through trades, Cooper Jr. could very well be the Jets’ No. 2 option at wide receiver in Week 1.

Of course, the Jets won’t just be relying on their wide receivers to move the ball through the air. They have a strong one-two punch at tight end and one of the league’s best receivers out of the backfield.

But when it comes to perimeter threats, Cooper Jr. has a chance to be next in line after Garrett Wilson.

Is Cooper Jr. ready to handle that type of workload in Year 1? What is his ceiling down the line?

The film tells all.

In the latest edition of Blewett’s Blitz, we answer all of those questions and more in a full-fledged breakdown of Cooper Jr.’s All-22 film.
