Following cut-down day, the waiver wire presents a perfect opportunity for NFL teams to shore up certain areas on their depth chart that they didn’t particularly address during the core of the offseason.

There are always a few unexpected players who shake loose after cut-down day and eventually help a team during the regular season.

Recently, Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay listed five notable players who could be cut this summer.

Here is a look at those five players:

  • Brandon Aiyuk, WR, San Francisco 49ers
  • Arik Armstead, DL, Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Colby Parkinson, TE, Los Angeles Rams
  • Anthony Bradford, OG, Seattle Seahawks
  • Patrick Queen, LB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Among those players he named, could any of them fit with the New York Jets?

Which potential cut candidates should the Jets target?

If ultimately cut, two of those five names jump off the page: Patrick Queen and Anthony Bradford.

The Pittsburgh Steelers would save $11 million by cutting Queen, who has struggled as their green-dot linebacker over the past few seasons.

On the other hand, the Seahawks would create $3.7 million by cutting Bradford, who was the weakest link on their starting offensive line last season.

Queen, 26, would be the perfect depth addition to the Jets’ linebacker room.

A former first-round pick and two-time Pro Bowler, he wouldn’t need to be one of the team’s starting LBs, but instead an established rotational piece behind Demario Davis and Jamien Sherwood.

It feels like the Jets are still missing a piece in their LB room. Behind Davis, there is a flurry of question marks. Adding Queen would shore up New York’s defense in that facet.

Despite being a part of a Super Bowl-winning starting offensive line, Bradford has undoubtedly had his fair share of struggles. His 50.6 overall grade from Pro Football Focus ranked 70th among 81 qualified guards in 2025.

Penalties have also been an issue for the Super Bowl champion, who committed 9 penalties in just 11 games during the 2024 season. However, he did improve in that regard in 2025, collecting just five in 17 games.

Similarly to Queen, though, Bradford would be a perfect fit to beef up the Jets’ interior offensive line depth, which is currently a glaring concern.

Behind the Jets’ three starters on the interior of their offensive line (Joe Tippmann, Josh Myers, Dylan Parham), they currently roster Xavier Newman, fifth-round rookie Anez Cooper, Landon Young, and Kohl Levao. All four of those backups are far from proven commodities at the NFL level.

At 25 years old, Bradford has appeared in 42 games and made 38 starts while on a Super Bowl team. At the very least, he would bring something the Jets currently don’t have: an experienced backup IOL.

While it remains unknown who, if anyone, from this list will shake loose, Queen and Bradford certainly make sense as potential additions to the Jets’ roster in August.
