Following a day off, New York Jets training camp continued on Saturday, but with fans in attendance.
Saturday marks one of seven practices that fans will be able to attend this summer, a limited number, as the team has ongoing renovations taking place at the facility.
However, it is the only practice open to anyone, unlike the others, which are open only to season-ticket holders.
Not only were fans in attendance, though, but several former Jets, including franchise legends, also appeared at 1 Jets Drive on Saturday.
Wayne Chrebet and Laveranues Coles were present, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, alongside former running back Adrian Murrell, former cornerback Ray Mickens, and former tight end Fred Baxter.
Baxter, Chrebet, Coles, Murrell and Mickens were all teammates with Jets head coach Aaron Glenn in the Big Apple during the 90s.
Since taking the Jets’ head coaching job, Glenn has received glowing endorsements from his former teammates who have supported him throughout the way.
This is the second year in a row that a handful of Glenn’s former teammates made their way out to Florham Park to support the 54-year-old.
Entering his second season at the helm for Gang Green, though, Glenn is hoping for a change of results after a 3-14 year.
Getting off to a hot start is more important than ever for him, as a shaky start to the year could put his job in jeopardy.
While Glenn has clearly commanded league-wide respect, the results must quickly follow if he wants to remain a head coach.
