The New York Jets will officially begin training camp on July 28, just three weeks from now.
Jets fans, though, are particularly interested in practice dates that will be open to the public. Per an official announcement from the team, seven open practices have been announced at the team’s facility in Florham Park, N.J.:
- Saturday, Aug. 1 (Back Together Weekend): 8:30 a.m. (General Public)
- Tuesday, Aug. 4: 8:30 a.m. (Flight Club Members Only)
- Saturday, Aug. 8: 8:30 a.m. (Flight Club Members Only)
- Tuesday, Aug. 11 (Joint with Buccaneers): 10:00 a.m. (Flight Club Members Only)
- Wednesday, Aug. 12 (Joint with Buccaneers): 10:00 a.m. (Flight Club Members Only)
- Tuesday, Aug. 18: 8:30 a.m. (Flight Club Members Only)
- Tuesday, Aug. 25: 12:45 p.m. (Flight Club Members Only)
Only the first of the seven practices is open to the general public. The next six are only open to Season Ticket Members, who will be able to redeem tickets to these practices through Rewards on the Flight Club Hub.
According to the Jets, training camp attendance will be limited “due to ongoing facility renovations designed to enhance player and coach operations.”
The Jets are working on a new Player Performance Center. The construction has “significantly reduced” available parking, usable space, and the club’s ability to accommodate large crowds, per the team.
This year’s Jets training camp will feature the first looks at numerous newly added young players expected to anchor the team’s core for years to come. Second-overall pick David Bailey, 16th overall pick Kenyon Sadiq, 30th overall pick Omar Cooper Jr., second-round pick D’Angelo Ponds, and trade pickup T’Vondre Sweat are just a few of the talented up-and-comers who will make their first appearances in front of Jets fans.
If general manager Darren Mougey’s plan comes to fruition, those players will be signing autographs in Florham Park for many, many years to come.
