The New York Jets have released their first unofficial depth chart of the 2026 season.
As usual, this should be taken with a grain of salt. The unofficial depth chart is compiled by the team’s communication staff, not the coaches.
The release of the unofficial depth chart comes ahead of New York’s joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by a preseason contest at MetLife Stadium on Friday (7 p.m. EST).
Here is the depth chart, with players listed in order from first to last. If two players are listed together, they occupy the same slot on the depth chart.

Jets fans should not take too much away from this depth chart, as it was not compiled by the coaches. The results are fascinating to analyze, though, with joint practices and preseason games about to kick into gear.
All three of the team’s first-round picks—David Bailey, Kenyon Sadiq, and Omar Cooper Jr.—are currently listed as backups, which is somewhat noteworthy, although rookies are often buried on the depth chart early in camp. Teams want rookies to earn their keep. Sadiq, though, will be unable to do that over the next few weeks as he works through a setback in his recovery from a sports hernia.
With Joseph Ossai on PUP, Kingsley Enagbare and Will McDonald are listed as the starting ends, with Bailey as a backup. Meanwhile, at defensive tackle, T’Vondre Sweat is on the NFI list, leaving Harrison Phillips as the starting nose tackle.
Cade Klubnik is listed as the backup quarterback, which is unsurprising, as he has been taking most of the second-team reps in camp. Bailey Zappe and Brady Cook are listed interchangeably in the third slot.
Interestingly, Azareye’h Thomas and Nahshon Wright are listed interchangeably for the starting cornerback spot opposite Brandon Stephens, implying an ongoing competition.
The same goes for the trio of Andre Cisco, Dane Belton, and Malachi Moore, who are competing to start at safety alongside Minkah Fitzpatrick.
At running back, Braelon Allen is listed at No. 2 over Isaiah Davis. Not only that, but Davis is listed interchangeably with undrafted rookie Chip Trayanum in the third slot.
As for the kicking competition, a leader was not declared between Jason Sanders and Cade York.
