With the pop megastar rumored to be in attendance, ticket prices for the Jets-Chiefs game have skyrocketed.

Following a report that Taylor Swift is expected to attend the New York Jets-Kansas City Chiefs game at MetLife Stadium on Sunday night, demand for tickets has increased considerably. As of Wednesday night, Vivid Seats reported a 173% increase in traffic for the Chiefs-Jets game page, per Rich Cimini.

Other ticket sites have seen an increase as well. The get-in price on TickPick has risen from $83 to $117 since the announcement that Swift may be in attendance for the game.

In addition, the Jets sold more than double the number of tickets in a single day than any other this season, according to StubHub. Sales and searches for Chiefs home games are up three times from normal value.

Swift has also drastically impacted Travis Kelce, with whom she is rumored to have some form of relationship. Kelce’s jersey sales, podcast viewership, and social media following have all skyrocketed since Swift’s appearance.

Swift’s star power will put even more eyes on New York’s nationally televised matchup with Kansas City, which is going to be the Jets’ first Sunday Night Football game since 2011. The matchup was set to be a duel between Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers, but it is now Zach Wilson in his place due to the latter’s injury.

With millions of eyes on the Jets, there is a massive opportunity for them to shift the narrative of their season. Even with a close loss, the organization can shake off the idea that their season is over and look towards returning to the win column against the dreadful Denver Broncos.

But if the Jets get blown out again and show the same issues they did against the New England Patriots, there will be the potential for a lot of bad blood surrounding the organization moving forward.
