For the first time in at least 15 years, the New York Jets’ offensive line appears to be the most talented unit on the roster.
With a projected starting lineup of Olu Fashanu, John Simpson, Joe Tippmann, Alijah Vera-Tucker, and Armand Membou, the Jets have the pieces to field one of the best offensive lines in football.
Where does it rank across the NFL?
Pro Football Focus added its two cents, ranking all 32 NFL offensive lines ahead of the 2025 season. The Jets earned a fascinating spot in the top 10.
- Philadelphia Eagles
- Denver Broncos
- Buffalo Bills
- Chicago Bears
- Indianapolis Colts
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Minnesota Vikings
- Atlanta Falcons
- New York Jets
- Los Angeles Chargers
“The Jets have a chance to end up much higher on this list as the season goes on if their young offensive tackle duo plays up to its potential,” wrote PFF’s Zoltรกn Buday. “The team is turning the page from veteran tacklesย Tyron Smithย andย Morgan Mosesย to first-roundersย Olu Fashanuย andย Armand Membou, and one of the league’s top interior offensive lines will anchor the group.
“Guardsย John Simpsonย andย Alijah Vera-Tuckerย both ranked among the 12 highest-graded guards in football last season, and second-year centerย Joe Tippmannย earned a 73.4 PFF overall grade, which placed him eighth among centers.”
It appears that PFF tried to play it down the middle with New York’s No. 9 placement. While they acknowledged that the Jets have the potential to finish as one of the best offensive lines in the NFL, they didn’t want to go that far just yet, waiting to see how New York’s young offensive tackles pan out.
Fashanu, the 11th overall pick in the 2024 draft, struggled early in his rookie season as he played multiple new positions. But after he returned to his natural left tackle position in Week 10, he was already playing like a league-average starting left tackle at just 21 years old. With such a high springboard to leap from, Fashanu has the potential to be a top-10 left tackle in Year 2.
Membou was chosen seventh overall in this year’s draft. The Missouri product is best known for his athleticism and tenacious mentality as a run blocker, but he also boastsย impressive skills as a pass protector. Still only 21 years old, Membou might need a few years of development to reach his peak, but he has the physical tools and the technique to make an immediate impact.
Look for the Jets’ offensive line to be among the NFL’s best this season. If they can live up to PFF’s projection and finish as a top 10 offensive line, it would give the Jets a much higher floor in the win column than many expect.
