On Monday, the New York Giants are hosting three former Pro Bowl free agent wide receivers for a workout: JuJu Smith-Schuster, Braxton Berrios, and Odell Beckham Jr.

Of course, the Jets’ facility in Florham Park, N.J., is just a 28-mile drive from the Giants’ home in East Rutherford, N.J.

So, should the Jets consider bringing any of these players over while they’re in town?

JuJu Smith-Schuster

Smith-Schuster played the last two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. In 31 games, he caught 51 passes for 576 yards and three touchdowns.

A former Pro Bowler for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2018, Smith-Schuster has not hit 400 yards or three touchdowns in a season since 2022. However, it might be surprising to hear that the 2017 second-round pick will still be only 29 years old when the 2026 season kicks off. After catching 33 passes for 345 yards and a touchdown last year, he is still a decent enough contributor to at least justify a 53-man roster spot.

The Jets recently signed Tim Patrick to add a stable veteran to the back end of their wide receiver depth chart. Smith-Schuster would likely be a slight upgrade over Patrick (15 catches for 187 yards in 2025) if the Jets were interested in adding another veteran to raise the floor of the unit, which is comprised of many young players whom the team is hoping will break out.

Braxton Berrios

While Berrios, 30, joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent in New England, he broke through in New York. From 2019 to 2022, Berrios played in 65 games for the Jets, catching 107 passes for 1,085 yards and five touchdowns.

Berrios thrived as a returner, averaging 11.4 yards per punt return and 24.9 yards per kick return. He earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2021 for his kick return efforts.

The Jets, though, have no need for returner help with Isaiah Williams and all-time great kick returner Kene Nwangwu on the roster. For that reason, Berrios probably won’t be of interest to the team.

Odell Beckham Jr.

At one point, Odell Beckham Jr. was on track to become one of the greatest receivers in NFL history. He broke through with 108.8 receiving yards per game in his rookie season. Through six seasons, he racked up 6,511 receiving yards and 48 touchdowns.

Then, injuries derailed Beckham’s career. Throughout stints in Cleveland, Baltimore, Los Angeles, and, most recently, Miami, Beckham was never the same player. He last appeared for the Miami Dolphins in 2024, playing nine games but catching only nine passes for 55 yards and no touchdowns.

At 33 years old with numerous injuries on his track record, Beckham probably isn’t an NFL-caliber contributor at this point. Even bringing him in for a visit would be more of a distraction than Aaron Glenn probably wants around his team.

Ultimately, the only one of these three receivers who might be worth exploring for the Jets is Smith-Schuster.
