The New York Jets’ cornerback room is set for a wide-open competition in 2026 training camp.

Brandon Stephens needs to prove himself after allowing an 8:0 touchdown-to-interception ratio in his first season as a Jet.

Nahshon Wright is looking to prove that his Pro Bowl breakout in 2025 was no fluke.

Second-round rookie D’Angelo Ponds is looking to prove that he can thrive in the NFL at 5-foot-8.

The most intriguing player of all, however, might be Azareye’h Thomas.

A third-round pick in the 2025 draft, Thomas is looking to build on a short but impressive run in his rookie year. Thomas played in 12 games, starting five, ultimately logging 311 defensive snaps. In his limited time on the field, Thomas displayed plenty of upside, recording seven passes defended and allowing a 48% completion rate on throws in his direction.

Many considered Thomas to be a third-round steal when the Jets selected him out of Florida State. Some pundits had second-round grades on him, or even late-first-round grades.

At 6-foot-1 with a 78-inch wingspan, Thomas has the size that NFL teams covet in press corners. Plus, as a guy who is still only 21 years old as we speak, he has plenty of room for growth.

Is Thomas poised to win one of the starting cornerback spots in Aaron Glenn’s defense? Where does he thrive? Where must he still improve to establish himself as a starting-level corner?

In the latest edition of Blewett’s Blitz, we break down Thomas’ film from the 2025 season.

Below is the full Azareye’h Thomas film review.
