Week 2 of the preseason could not have gone much better for the New York Jets.

Geno Smith made his return in a Jets uniform and had a flawless outing, completing all of his pass attempts en route to an opening-drive touchdown.

The starting defense played extended reps and kept the Steelers’ offense in check.

Additionally, the rookie class continued flashing. David Bailey recorded his first sack, while Cade Klubnik had some excellent throws that may have flown under the radar on the broadcast.

Some concerns also emerged, though. The backup offensive line was a total mess at times. New York’s offense struggled to move the ball as a whole after the starters went out.

Still, there was a lot for fans to be excited about. Smith displayed excellent chemistry with his pass catchers, including Garrett Wilson, Adonai Mitchell, and tight end Mason Taylor. The first-team offensive line also continues to display some promise.

So, what should be the main takeaways for Jets fans after the 17-0 win in Week 2 of the preseason?

How well did Smith play? Does he look poised for a bounce-back year in a new envrionment?

What about Klubnik? Is the fourth-round rookie showing legitimate capability to be a backup quarterback in Year 1?

In the latest episode of Blewett’s Blitz, we answer all of those questions and more in a complete film review of Jets-Steelers.
