Three New York Jets defensive players attended the Knicks’ second-round opening game

Some key contributors on the New York Jets defense were in attendance to take in a different New York sport.

On Monday night, Edge rusher Jermaine Johnson, linebacker Quincy Williams, and linebacker Jamien Sherwood attend the Knicks’ second-round opener against the Indiana Pacers.

Johnson also posted that it was his first Knicks game and “you knew 11 had to look out for 11.”

As almost every Knicks playoff game has been, the game was a cardiac affair. New York and Indianapolis traded scores the entire game, never letting each other take control.

Ultimately, it was the effort from superstar Jalen Brunson and timely plays from Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo that sealed the tightly contested game for the Knicks, 121-117.

If things go according to plan for the Jets, they should have a chance to find similar playoff success.

They have an elite defense that has proved it can shut down offenses over the past few seasons. With their additions on offense, Aaron Rodgers should be able to help New York score consistently.

It all comes down to execution and staying healthy. The Jets have not been able to achieve either of those recently, promoting their lack of success.

New York has all the ingredients to be a playoff team and a contender in 2024. It remains to be seen how the Jets’ season will play out. If they do get to the playoffs, their players will have a chance to make an impact similar to the likes of Brunson, Hart, and DiVincenzo.
