“NFL Madden 21” reveals its rookie ratings for quarterbacks and wide receivers, which means New York Jets’ Denzel Mims and James Morgan.
EA Sports’ NFL Madden franchise has always played second fiddle to actual NFL play. That’s sort of suddenly not the case anymore.
Thanks to the uncertainty of the world, courtesy of COVID-19, Madden could turn out to be the only game in town (if disaster strikes). So do not scoff at anything Madden related; it may just turn out to be ultra-critical this season.
With that, EA Sports released the rookie ratings of the quarterbacks and wide receivers over the last couple of days. This means James Morgan and Denzel Mims are now aware of their ratings.
The New York Jets rookie quarterback is given a 60 rating while the wide receiver snags a 70 overall.
Mims’ 70 rating has him tied for 11th at the position with the Oakland Raiders’ Bryan Edwards and the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Chase Claypool. Considering Mims was the 13th wide receiver off the board in the draft, that rating is pretty much right on the money (to kick off a career, at the very least).
His speed is rated at 92, which places only two rookie wideouts ahead of him with a higher speed rating (Henry Ruggs III at 98, who is also the highest-rated rookie wideout at 76 overall, and Jalen Reagor with a 93 speed rating).
As far as Morgan is concerned, his 60 rating places him tied for eighth with Cole McDonald. Morgan’s throwing power is at 90 and No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow tops the list with a 76 overall mark.
