Sabo Radio 62 previews the New York Jets-Indianapolis Colts matchup and makes its Week 3 picks sure to (maybe) work like a charm.
The difference between 0-3 and 1-2 is gigantic, and that’s what the New York Jets face this weekend against the Colts in Indianapolis.
Anybody expecting a better news week for the Jets came away massively disappointed. Again, injuries hit the depth chart in horrid ways.
Breshad Perriman‘s ankle injury will keep him out of this one along with Jamison Crowder, who will miss his second-consecutive contest. Sprinkle in Denzel Mims, who remains on IR, and Sam Darnold‘s top-three receivers are all shelved.
That means it’s Lawrence Cager time.
The Georgia product who enjoyed a nice camp as a corner-of-the-end zone monster has been elevated from the practice squad to the active roster (along with interior offensive lineman Jimmy Murray). Cager’s presence will mean a lot to Darnold, especially considering only four wideouts are dressing (the same number as the Jets’ four quarterbacks) and Braxton Berrios brings a bum hammy into the contest (officially listed as questionable).
Strategically, how should Adam Gase’s offense attack the Colts defense—a unit that’s impressed thus far on the young season? Defensively, how should Gregg Williams handle the first couple of series against an older (and weaker-armed) Rivers?
Additionally, the Week 3 picks are announced, and we briefly touch on the big topic of the week (if the Jets fall hard in this game): is Trevor Lawrence a must-draft if Darnold continues to struggle and the Jets wind up with the No. 1 overall pick?
All of that and more happens on Sabo Radio 62.
