Quinnen Williams is the New York Jets‘ interior defensive beast—and there’s very little argument to that notion.
The lone holdover gift from the Mike Maccagnan era, big Quinnen Williams is firmly entrenched in the Jets’ future plans. Prior to the 2023 training camp, Big Q and the organization agreed on a long-term deal that will keep the man in New Jersey for quite some time.
Officially, it’s a four-year deal worth $96 million. The key to the deal is the monstrous $66 million in guarantees that are set to flood Williams’s bank account.
From a production standpoint, it took some time for the Alabama product to cash in on his No. 3 overall selection status. Entering the league in 2019, Quinnen Williams was named to his first Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro team in 2022.
All told, he racked up 12 sacks, 28 QB hits, 12 tackles for loss, and 55 total tackles in 16 games. With Aaron Rodgers leading the offense, Quinnen Williams enters 2023 with his future secured and plenty of support behind him on defense.
Quinnen Williams notches first career INT vs. Eagles
Although he didn’t bring down Jalen Hurts at all in the game, New York Jets stud DT Quinnen Williams provided tremendous production in the middle of the defense.
Better yet, he notched his first career interception in the Jets’ surprising and exciting victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Quinnen Williams his usual dominant self vs. Buffalo
Although he didn’t pick up a sack, Quinnen Williams was his usual dominant self in the New York Jets’ 22-16 victory over the Buffalo Bills in Week 1.
Perhaps his biggest plays were the fourth-quarter fumble recovery that led to a go-ahead field goal, and a solo tackle against James Cook on a second-down draw play in overtime.
