New York Jets left tackle Mekhi Becton approved of “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” while also lamenting Bugs Bunny’s plot endpoint.
Mekhi, how dare you. Do even understand the magnitude of your recent actions?
New York Jets left tackle Mekhi Becton decided to share his thoughts on the recently released Space Jam: A New Legacy starring LeBron James. One of these thoughts could place him in the dreaded “spoiler” category as a human.
From an overall standpoint, he approves of the second edition.
If you think space jam 2 is bad you big tripping

“If think Space Jam 2 is bad you big tripping,” Becton tweeted Saturday night, a day after its release (HBO Max).
A positive review is something Warner Brothers and LeBron himself most likely appreciate in this social media world showcasing genuine opinions that follow an insane number of unauthentic thoughts.
The problem lies in his follow-up tweet.
They aint have to off bugs bunny tho 😂

“They ain’t have to off Bugs Bunny though,” Becton elaborated.
Wait, what? Does Bugs Bunny actually die in the film? This isn’t a South Park situation that saw the Kenny insanity met with normalcy.
This is Looney Tunes, Warner Brothers. Considering the film’s target audience, a classic cartoon character meeting his demise seems like an odd choice. (Sure, the Road Runner flattened the Coyote more times than Becton against the Buffalo Bills in 2020, but the audience always knew he’d be back.)
Jets X-Factor’s NYJ Matt thought it was an odd choice for the famed cartoon as well.
Pause

Becton, the man the kids love to call Mount Mekhi, Big Ticket, etc., unapologetically doubled down.
That’s not a pause my guy 😂 off means kill lol cmon man 😂🤦🏾♂️ https://t.co/TuZ7Zz3evz

Admittedly, I haven’t seen the movie (yet?). I can’t correct the record on a first-hand level.
But after a little research, it appears that Bugs’s current status is a bit of a mystery—based on the movie’s plot. (See how I stopped there without giving up too much information?)
Becton’s Bugs Bunny comment was obviously all in good fun, and very few people (if anybody) actually deem this a true spoiler. Therefore, Becton’s in the clear. It wasn’t the same case for LeSean McCoy a couple of years back.
In the Summer of 2019, the then-Buffalo Bills running back (later signing with the Kansas City Chiefs in September of that year) decided to throw up a tweet after watching the highly-anticipated Avengers: Endgame.
Now that’s a spoiler.
The replies and chatter around McCoy ruining the ending at the time could only be described as legendary. The man had a digital Marvel-fan mob on his heels at every turn.
This time around, with Becton, it’s all in good fun, as usual.
Plus, Becton is a huge NBA fan and most likely a LeBron fan. He’s been spotted tweeting about the Miami Heat at times, and this past season, Becton approved of a Los Angeles Lakers victory over the hometown Brooklyn Nets.
With training camp nearing, Mekhi Becton and the New York Jets are set to tackle the 2021 NFL season. The team’s first camp session is scheduled for July 28, 2021, in Florham Park, NJ.
Who knows? Maybe Bugs Bunny is just hiding out until Jets camp officially opens. We already know Kenny won’t be there.
