New York Jets WR Elijah Moore, a touted rookie receiver, had a heartwarming surprise in store for his mother Elisa.
New York Jets rookie receiver Elijah Moore will have to wait until December before he and Gang Green hit the road to play Miami, the first of what’s sure to be many showdowns with the Dolphins for him and the rest of the Jets’ 2020 draft class.
Despite the wait for on-field action, the Ole Miss is already making big plays in South Beach.

Moore had a special surprise in store for his mother Elisa over the weekend, presenting her with an oversized check that served as a representation of a promise to pay off all her debts.
Videos posted on Moore’s social media accounts appear to value the check at $70,000. Moore presented the check while partying with family and friends in a yacht off the shores of Miami, apparently in celebration of Elisa’s birthday.
“The things that I do will never make up for anything that you guys have done for me, particularly my mother,” Moore, clad in a Yankee cap says as he prefaces his gift. “I just wanted to do something small for you…I wanted to add a little something, a little trip for my mom because she deserves the world.
“I’m going to pay off all your debt,” Moore says as two friends produce the check. “You don’t got to worry about nothing…you’re going to live how you want and we’ll just keep going up because you deserve it, mom. I want to give you the world. I want to give everybody here the world because you guys are family. Mommy, I love you.”
What’s ahead for Moore
Moore was chosen 34th overall in last spring’s NFL Draft in Cleveland. He is expected to play a big role in the Jets’ offense moving forward, working with a revamped receiving group that also welcomes in veterans Corey Davis and Keelan Cole.
The Ole Miss product is coming off of a historic final season in Oxford, earning consensus All-American honors with 1,193 yards on 86 receptions in only eight games (each mark good for second in the nation).
