Woody Johnson unveils a new uniform combo hours before Thursday night kickoff
The New York Jets appear to be viewing their Thursday night showdown against the Indianapolis Colts (8:20 p.m. ET, Fox/NFL Network) in terms of black and white.
Team owner Woody Johnson revealed hours before kickoff that the team would rock a white jersey with black pants for the prime time visit to Lucas Oil Stadium. It marks the first time the Jets have worn such a colored combo in franchise history.

Black was introduced to the team’s palette in 2019 in conjunction with the revamped oval logo and aesthetic (labeled “Gotham Green”). The Jets have worn an all-black combination six times, but this will be the first time that they have used the color alongside green or white.
Johnson previously hinted a such a showing on Wednesday, promising a “new uniform combo” for the trip to the Midwest.
New uniform combo coming tomorrow night. Stay tuned.

The Jets (2-5) previously paired their alternate black jersey with the black pants for their upset win over the Cincinnati Bengals at MetLife Stadium last week. That win improved the Jets to 3-3 all-time in their all-black set introduced with the Gotham Green package.
Perhaps the Jets are looking to search every avenue necessary to earn a win in prime time: they’ve lost each of their last seven nationally televised contests, dating back to 2018.
New York’s last such win came in the opening weekend of that season (a 48-17 Monday night triumph in Detroit) before commencing the current streak a week-and-a-half later with a Thursday night loss in Cleveland.
This year, the Jets dropped a Sunday morning decision in London to Atlanta on Oct. 10, a game nationally televised on NFL Network.
