Brandon Tierney and Tiki Barber are moving to WFAN’s midday slot
Noted New York Jets fan and critic Brandon Tierney is taking over the metropolitan area’s midday airwaves, taking his show shared with former NFL running back Tiki Barber to WFAN. Tierney and Barber will occupy the 10 a.m.-2 p.m. slot currently occupied by Maggie Gray and Marc Malusis.
The news was first reported by Andrew Marchand of the New York Post.
Tierney has previously collaborated with ESPN Radio’s New York affiliate and CBS Sports Radio, the latter hosting he and Barber’s show for the past eight years. “Tiki and Tierney” will conclude its run this month before moving to WFAN’s coveted midday slot, a stretch previously occupied by Joe Beningo and Evan Roberts’ shared program.
As for the former occupiers, Malusis will likely reassume rotating hosting duties while Gray is moving on to take over the newly-freed drive slot at CBS Sports Radio alongside Andrew Perloff.
A Brooklyn native and Marist College alum, Tierney’s endeavors have also situated him in San Francisco and Detroit but he has made a sizable impact in his local New York area. Tierney previously earned studio duties for New York Knicks radio broadcasts (in addition to serving as a substitute play-by-play man) and also reported on St. John’s basketball for MSG Network.
His fanhood of the Jets has never been a secret and Tierney has embarked on some memorable rants during the team’s decade-long playoff drought. Earlier this year, for example, Tierney used a “CBS Sports Minute” to chastise Jets fans for booing Zach Wilson out of his MetLife Stadium debut in September.
Tierney has also praised the resiliency and strength of Jets fans to be able to withstand years of disappointment and heartbreak, with his rants even attracting the attention of New York management.

Tierney will once again be joined in this new endeavor by Barber, who returns to WFAN’s airwaves after a decade-long tenure as the Giants’ running back (WFAN is the flagship radio station of Giants football). The all-time leading rusher in Big Blue history has held several broadcasting spots since his NFL departure in 2006, previously working with NBC and Sirius Satellite Radio.
Tierney’s Jets (3-8) will return to action on Sunday afternoon against the Philadelphia Eagles (1 p.m. ET, CBS).
