Wilson became the fourth quarterback to find Elijah Moore for a touchdown
Zach Wilson got his return to MetLife Stadium started on the right note, ending the New York Jets‘ first Sunday drive with a three-yard touchdown hook-up with fellow rookie Elijah Moore.
The last stanza of a five-play, 21-yard drive ended in personal history for Wilson, who picked up his first career touchdown pass within the first 30 minutes of an NFL game.
It gave the Jets an early 6-0 lead over the Philadelphia Eagles in an interconference game.

The score marks the second time the Jets have scored on their opening possession this season and their first since Oct. 31’s upset win over Cincinnati. Moore’s touchdown, his fifth of the season, is his first from Wilson, who becomes the fourth quarterback to earn a six-point throw to the second-rounder this season.
Alas for the Jets, the football deities afforded them little time to revel in the celebration: Alex Kessman’s maiden voyage as the Jets’ kicker ended in disaster through a missed extra point before Gardner Minshew found Dallas Goedert for a 36-yard touchdown that gave the Eagles the lead.
Wilson got the Jets back in the lead with a one-yard punch-in that capped off an 11-play, 68-yard drive, though Kessman once again misfired on the point-after attempt.
