Quinnen Williams will have some special pregame guests come the 2022 season

It appears that Quinnen Williams will have some new teammates when the New York Jets kick off the 2022-23 NFL season.

The Jets’ standout defender surprised a pair of season ticket holders with a gift in a video released by the team on Monday.

Robert Lobell and his son were among the many fans who made their way back to MetLife Stadium after the stands were closed during the 2020 season. The Lobells’ seats are pretty decent as is – situated in Section 114 behind the Jets’ bench – but Williams is ready to give his supporters a bit of an upgrade via a pair of field passes for a pregame visit to the stadium’s turf.

Though Lobell’s son is shown wearing a Zach Wilson jersey in an archived photo, it’s likely that Williams’ No. 95 could enter his wardrobe after the release of Monday’s video.

Williams is on pace to be one of MetLife Stadium’s mainstays for the foreseeable future. He joined the Jets as the third overall pick of the 2019 draft and has put up 17 tackles for a loss and 13 sacks over the last two seasons.

The Jets are expected to upgrade their defense in the coming offseason, and they’re also expected to welcome back high-profile acquisition Carl Lawson to join Williams in the pass rush after the former Cincinnati Bengal missed the whole 2021 season thanks to a preseason injury.

Williams and the Lobells have a packed home slate to look forward to next season. In addition to their usual visits from Buffalo, Miami, and New England, the Jets will also welcome in the aforementioned Bengals, who are set to play for the AFC’s spot in the Super Bowl on Sunday afternoon (3 p.m. ET, CBS), for the second straight season.

Other notable opponents include Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens while Wilson’s fellow 2021 draftees Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence respectively come in from Chicago and Jacksonville.
