Braxton Berrios takes to Twitter to critique Madden appearance
EA Sports’ famous slogan claims that “If it’s in the game, it’s in the game”. Braxton Berrios, however, apparently begs to differ.
The New York Jets‘ free agent receiver took humorous exception to his depiction in the latest rendition of the “Madden” video game franchise.
Writer Conor Sheeran brought the apparent slight to Berrios’ attention on Twitter after being appalled at the pixeled receiver/returner’s likeness, to the point of channeling the pain of a heartbroken Don Vito Corleone after the Marlon Brando-portrayed character’s son was brutally gunned down in the classic film “The Godfather”.
I haven’t played Madden in a few years so imagine my surprise when I booted up the latest edition and discovered this is how @HNYNUT_BERRIOS is animated in the game #Jets pic.twitter.com/WRIUzwsEBw

Berrios was likewise outraged – though his “anger” was more in connection with his virtual towel placement.
This is absolutely criminal. I wear the towel on my back hip not the front, smh Madden https://t.co/He3Jr86POf

“This is absolutely criminal,” a casually livid Berrios declares. “I wear the towel on my back hip, not the front, (shaking my head) Madden.”
It’s good to see that newfound stardom has done nothing to mess with Berrios’ sense of humor as a potential trip to the free agency market looms. The fourth-year receiver has become the focal point of the Jets’ offseason affairs after leading the league with a 30.4-yard average kick return and filling in serviceably at receiver when injuries ate away at the Jets’ aerial corps.

Things have been relatively quiet on Berrios’ future, though head Robert Saleh revealed in a conference call with season ticket holders that he has joined Zach Wilson and several other green representatives in Florida to work out.
EA still has some time to work on their pixelated version of Berrios for their next NFL simulator. “Madden NFL 23” is set to be released on Aug. 19.
