Mekhi Becton’s recovery is on the right track, per New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh
Mekhi Becton made his long-awaited return to the New York Jets‘ practice facility for mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, although he did not participate in team drills during practice. Becton stayed off to the side working with trainers in the rehab area.
However, Jets head coach Robert Saleh provided an official timetable for Becton’s return to the practice field on Wednesday.
Saleh says that Becton will work with the performance staff for the rest of this week, but that he expects Becton to be ready to go for training camp.
Robert Saleh says Mekhi Becton "looks good." … Adds "he's here, so it's good."

Saleh would not get into specifics when asked about Becton’s weight but did say that Becton’s knee is structurally fine.
Regarding Becton’s talent on the field, Saleh spoke highly of Becton’s abilities.
“We’re all aware of the talent he possesses,” Saleh said. “The size, the athleticism, the physicality, all of it. And he’s really smart. So, having him on the offensive line to move people off their spot, so the running back has running lanes and the quarterback can sit in the pocket and buy a hitch. So, yeah, he’s important. If he takes care of his business like we know he can, he can be transcendent.”

The official start date for the Jets’ 2022 training camp is yet to be confirmed, although we can expect it to be at some point in late July. New York began training camp on July 28 in 2021.
Training camp is the next official team event that will take place following the conclusion of this week’s mandatory minicamp. After this week, players are free to head home for the next month-plus until training camp begins.
