The New York Jets looked like the better team during their first joint practice with the Atlanta Falcons

Prior to their preseason game at MetLife Stadium on Monday (8 p.m. ET), the New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons are meeting up for two joint practices at the Jets’ facility in Florham Park. The first of those practices was held on Friday, and the Jets seemed to hold the edge throughout scrimmage periods.

Rookie running back Breece Hall recorded one of the best highlights of the day, breaking loose along the right sideline for a 75-yard touchdown. Thanks to key blocks from right tackle George Fant and tight end Tyler Conklin, the edge is left clean for Hall to get a one-on-one in space. Hall jukes the cornerback and is off to the races.

Joe Flacco was in a groove throughout most of the day. He connected with plenty of Jets pass-catchers for big plays. Here, Elijah Moore scorches a defender with an inside fake to open himself up deep. Flacco drops it in.

Flacco connects with Corey Davis on an out route. Davis beats A.J. Terrell, who was one of the NFL’s best cornerbacks in 2021.

Flacco shows that his 37-year-old wheels can still spin as he rolls out and threads the needle to Garrett Wilson, who makes a stellar diving catch.

Tight end C.J. Uzomah gets in on the action with a catch-and-run.

There isn’t any footage available of the Jets’ defense against the Falcons’ offense, as that scrimmage took place on the far field away from the fans, but those in attendance reported some intriguing highlights.

Sauce Gardner picked off his college teammate Desmond Ridder. Carl Lawson and Jermaine Johnson had sacks. Michael Carter II recorded a pass deflection in coverage against Kyle Pitts.

On the injury front, defensive end Vinny Curry limped off the field. Defensive end Bryce Huff missed practice with an oblique injury and will miss a couple of days.

The Jets and Falcons will hold another joint practice on Saturday before reconvening in East Rutherford on Monday for their Week 2 preseason game.
