New York Jets will be donning a familiar look vs. Cincinnati Bengals
New York Jets owner Woody Johnson is making it a weekly tradition to announce the team’s uniform combination for its upcoming game.
For the Jets’ Week 3 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Johnson revealed the Jets will be wearing a combination that fans have gotten used to.
The Jets will be wearing white jerseys and white pants. It is the third consecutive game in which they’ve worn the set to begin the 2022 season.

The Jets have been a competent football team when wearing white-on-white. Since Robert Saleh took over in 2021, the Jets own a respectable 3-4 record in the set, which includes last week’s historic comeback win over the Cleveland Browns. When wearing any other combination, Saleh’s Jets are 2-10.
New York has elected to pass on its green jerseys for the second straight home game, marking the third consecutive season in which the green top has not been used in either of the Jets’ first two home games. Perhaps it’s for good reason: under Saleh, the Jets are 0-5 with green jerseys. They are 2-1 with black jerseys and 3-8 with white jerseys.
The Jets will be able to tap into their success with the black jerseys for the first time in Week 8 when the New England Patriots come to town. That is one of three games in which the Jets will wear black, alongside Week 12 against the Chicago Bears and Week 16 against the Jacksonville Jaguars (Thursday Night Football).
On Sunday, Cincinnati will be wearing black jerseys and white pants, matching the team’s Super Bowl LVI look. It doesn’t seem Cincinnati’s black jerseys will lead to increased heat from the sun, however, as Sunday’s forecast is currently projecting cloudy weather with a high of only 74 degrees in East Rutherford.
