Is New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers the NFL’s most marketable player?
Aaron Rodgers‘ impact on the New York Jets cannot be understated – not just on the field, but off of it, too. Not only has Rodgers instantly put the Jets in contention for a playoff berth, but he has thrust the team into the national spotlight.
Rodgers had only been a Jet for six days before securing the top spot in jersey sales in the month of April. Rodgers beat out both quarterbacks that were in the 2022-23 Super Bowl (Jalen Hurts & Patrick Mahomes) as well as AFC East rival Josh Allen. That alone shows how marketable the new Jets’ quarterback is, but it’s only the tip of the iceberg.
According to OLBG’s Marketable Index Score, Rodgers is the most marketable player in the NFL. The index takes into account player audience reachability, advertising performance, audience quality score, and social media follower count.
Among the top ten players, Rodgers finished:
- 4th in follower count (2.1 million)
- 1st in audience quality score (86/100)
- 4th in audience reachability (91%)
- 3rd in audience authenticity (72.5%)
- 1st in earned media value ($55.14)
- 1st in sentiment analysis of post comments (69.8%)
Rodgers has yet to take the field for the Jets, but his impact on the franchise’s brand has already been significant.
The future Hall of Fame quarterback knows he’s stepping into an incredible opportunity. In sports fandom, the New York market can turn good players into stars and stars into demigods. Getting to play for an “iconic franchise”, in Rodgers’ words, can only tear the roof off of his potential ceiling in the all-time NFL lore – both with his success on the field and with marketing opportunities off of it.

For the first time since Joe Namath, the Jets have the most marketable player in the NFL. If that can translate to success on the gridiron, the opportunities are endless.
