The film reveals whether Joe Tippmann is ready to start for the New York Jets from Day 1
Entering the 2023 NFL draft, the New York Jets had a big need at center. While the Jets re-signed their previous starter, Connor McGovern, a few days before the draft, they only signed McGovern to a relatively cheap one-year, $1.9 million deal. This suggested New York had its eyes on a bigger prize at center.
As it turns out, the Jets did make a splash at center. In the second round, New York used the 43rd overall pick on Wisconsin center Joe Tippmann.

Tippmann started at center for Wisconsin over the past two seasons and gained a reputation as one of the best centers in college football. He allowed one sack and just nine total pressures across 24 starts.
Most Jets fans fully expect the 22-year-old to step right into the starting lineup and snap the ball to Aaron Rodgers in Week 1. However, Jets head coach Robert Saleh hasn’t handed the job to Tippmann just yet. Saleh has stated that Tippmann and McGovern will have an “open competition” for the starting center position.
